Not all poles are born to live over a window. When I saw this one and a pair of our extended Gothic brackets, all it needed was a pair of small end stops and we have a towel rail.
The reeded oak pole is 38mm diameter and 123cm long, total length is 126cm.
The oak brackets have a projection of 15cm from wall to back of pole.
